Abstract

Dyslexia is a specific learning disorder, which is neurological in origin. It stems from developmental peculiarities or from specific characteristics of functioning of the central nervous system. It is characterized by poor reading and spelling abilities, which are not in line with other abilities, and by impaired automatization as well as spelling and reading fluency. The purpose of developing this web application, which consists of four tasks, was to provide a freely accessible way of recognising dyslexia in children as early as possible. In comparison to traditional approaches, it makes possible the quicker and more extensive testing. In addition, it is suitable for remote testing in a familiar environment. In this paper, we present the results of preliminary testing of the application.
