Abstract

The paper presents the results of the PIS 2025 survey on the state of business informatics in Slovenian organizations. The analysis covers IT management, digitalization, artificial intelligence, business process management, data governance and data management, information technologies, ERP systems, business intelligence, and information security. The findings indicate increasing investments in IT, although the majority of resources are still allocated to operational activities. Digitalization is predominantly perceived as a means of improving efficiency and processes rather than transforming business models. The use of artificial intelligence is growing, especially in automation and analytics, yet it is constrained by organizational and competence-related barriers. Data governance and business intelligence show medium maturity levels with highly dispersed practices. Information security primarily focuses on basic protection mechanisms and regulatory compliance. Overall, the results suggest gradual progress accompanied by the need for a more strategic and systematic development of business informatics.
